Questions before you book

Take a taxi: River Walk is about 3.5 km from the terminal, about 6 minutes by car. Taxis wait outside arrivals and charge by the meter: 3.50 KM to start, 2.30 KM per kilometre and 5 KM per piece of luggage, so the ride comes to about 12 KM (roughly €6) before luggage. Give the driver the address Butmirska cesta 16, Ilidža. You can also ask reception before you travel to arrange a pick-up. There is no tram at the airport and no direct bus to Ilidža.

Ask reception before you travel and they will try to arrange a car to meet you. Send your flight number, landing time and the number of passengers and bags to reception@riverwalkrent.ba, or call +387 33 837 337. Reception will tell you whether a driver is available for your flight and what it will cost.

Not to Ilidža. No tram line reaches the airport, and the airport bus runs the other way, to BaščaršijaBaščaršijaSarajevo’s Ottoman-era bazaar and old town, with craft shops, cafés and restaurants around the Sebilj fountain. Tram line 3 from Ilidža runs here.12 km · tram line 3 · about 17 min by car in the city centre, for 5 KM one way. City trolleybuses leave from Dobrinja, a walk from the terminal, and also go to the centre. For River Walk, take a taxi or ask reception about a pick-up.

You can, but it is not comfortable with suitcases. The walk is about 3.4 km and takes about 46 minutes, mostly beside main roads (Kurta Schorka and Kasindolska cesta). With a small bag in daylight it is manageable; otherwise the taxi takes about 6 minutes.

Order a taxi the evening before: call Sarajevo Taxi on 1515, use its mojTaxi app, or ask reception to arrange a car. The drive takes about 6 minutes, so time your departure by your airline’s check-in deadline. If you are leaving before 08:00, tell reception the day before so your check-out is ready. Trams and city buses do not go to the airport.

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is until 11:00. Reception is open 24 hours a day. Tell reception your arrival time in advance, and mention it when you book if you will arrive after 20:00.

At reception, which is staffed around the clock. River Walk has two buildings, Butmirska cesta 16A and 16B, so ask which entrance to use when you send your arrival time. If your flight is delayed, call +387 33 837 337 so reception expects you.

Yes. Parking is free for guests, with outdoor spaces and an underground garage on site. If you need a garage space, are coming with more than one car or drive a tall vehicle, tell reception before you arrive: +387 33 837 337.

Up to 3 guests: the studio, 48 m² with a city view, one room with a bed, a private kitchen and a bathroom. Up to 4: the one-bedroom apartment, 72 m² with a river view. Up to 5: the two-bedroom apartments, 80 m² or 100 m² with a river view and two bathrooms. Up to 7: the three-bedroom apartment, 137 m² with three bathrooms. The living-room sofa bed counts towards these limits.

Each apartment has its own kitchen, a washing machine, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Apartments are cleaned every three days, with fresh towels and bed linen. If you need something specific for cooking or laundry, ask reception before you arrive.

Yes, children of all ages are welcome. A cot for a child up to two years old is free on request, subject to availability, so ask for it when you book. There are no extra beds; older children use the beds and sofa beds counted in each apartment’s guest limit. Children aged three and over count towards the guest limit.

No. Pets are not allowed, and smoking is not allowed in the apartments. Quiet hours are from 23:00 to 07:00.

Yes. Send reception your dates, the number of guests and the size of apartment you need, and ask for a written offer with the full price, utilities, cleaning and any deposit: reception@riverwalkrent.ba. For everyday life you have your own kitchen and washing machine, a market on the ground floor and the tram to the city about 7 minutes away on foot.

Take tram line 3 from the Ilidža tram stopIlidža tram stopThe last stop of tram line 3, which runs between Ilidža and Baščaršija in Sarajevo’s old town.600 m · about 7 min on foot⁠, about 7 minutes’ walk (600 m) from River Walk, and ride to the last stop, Baščaršija. A single ticket costs 2.20 KM and a day ticket 7.10 KM, from the GRAS kiosk at the stop or from the driver. Trams run every few minutes during the day, from about 5 in the morning until late evening; check the GRAS timetable for the day you travel. By taxi the old town is about 12 km, about 17 minutes outside rush hour and around 30 KM on the meter.

Yes. The nearest taxi rank is beside the Ilidža tram stop, about 650 m from River Walk. You can also call Sarajevo Taxi on 1515 or order through its mojTaxi app; Uber does not operate in Sarajevo. Taxis charge by the meter, 3.50 KM to start and 2.30 KM per kilometre, with no extra charge at night or on Sundays.

It is closed to motor vehicles.⁠, the 3.5 km avenue of plane and chestnut trees that is closed to cars. By car it is about 5 km, about 9 minutes, to the paid car park near the entrance. Entry for visitors from abroad costs 6 KM for adults and 3 KM for children aged 6 to 18; children under 6 go free.

No, breakfast is not included. You have your own kitchen, and Del Gusto and La Soul on the ground floor both serve breakfast. For groceries there is a small market in the building.

On the ground floor, around the square by the river. Del Gusto is a restaurant with pizza, pasta, grilled meat and fish; La Soul is a café with burgers. Cloud Cafe and Huqqa Lounge are there too.

Yes. There is a small market on the ground floor of River Walk for everyday items. For a full shop, the Bingo hypermarket is in Bingo City Center, about 200 m away on the same street (Butmirska cesta 14).

The nearest pharmacy is Apoteka Al-Hana at Dr. Mustafe Pintola 21, about 450 m or 6 minutes on foot, near the Ilidža health centre (Dom zdravlja Ilidža). There is another pharmacy at Butmirska cesta 10. The closest cash machine is the UniCredit ATM at Bingo City Center, about 200 m away.

At reception you can pay by card or in cash. The local currency is the convertible mark (KM), fixed at 1.95583 KM to the euro. Residence tax is not in the booking total: 3 KM per person for each night (children under 12 do not pay), paid at reception.

Cancellation is free until 5 days before arrival. For a booking made on this website or directly with River Walk, write to reception to cancel or change it: reception@riverwalkrent.ba. If you booked through Booking.com or another site, cancel or change the booking there.
